What is a Nameserver?

A Nameserver is what connects your Domain Name to your DNS Zone. A DNS zone is like the address book of your domain name, that tells the internet where your services are that you use with the domain name (email and website for example).

Nameservers are a required part of the Domain Name System (DNS). This assigns words, names or what we like to call them Domain Names instead of IP addresses (Series of numbers eg. 192.168.1.1). It is like getting in touch with your friend by phone: Before calling, you would look up their telephone number or write it down so you don't have to enter the numbers each time.

When you have Email hosting, website hosting, or URL forwarding with DDNS, We include premium DNS hosting. If you don't have hosting, you can purchase DNS hosting from us as a separate service. To connect to that service please ensure you have the following Nameservers delegated to your domain:

dns1.quick.net.au
dns2.quick.net.au
dns3.quick.net.au
dns4.quick.net.au

How To Edit Your Name Servers.

1. Log into your account on our website DDNS

2. Select Domains on the left-hand side, then click View next to the domain you want to alter the Name server of. Scroll down the page until you see the heading 'Nameservers'.

3. Select 'Use custom nameservers (enter below)', then enter your desired nameservers.

4. Hit 'Save Changes'.

Your new nameservers have now been changed. It may take up to half an hour for the changes to propagate. Note that if you change your nameservers, we will no longer be managing your DNS Records.
